The platform integrates with over 100 third-party applications including Gmail, HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Stripe, Salesforce, Jira, Airtable, and many more. Agents operate inside the apps teams already use, with fine-grained access controls that limit data access to specific labels, databases, tables, and distinguish between read and write permissions.
AI capabilities are built directly into the workflow editor as steps alongside standard automation steps. Built-in AI actions cover data extraction, classification, summarization, translation, audio transcription, text-to-speech, and image generation. Users can choose a specific model from providers including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini, or let the platform select the optimal model automatically.
A distinctive Human in the Loop feature allows teams to insert manual checkpoints anywhere in a workflow. Agents can be configured to pause before high-impact actions and request review via email or Slack, then continue with the approved version. Approval steps, manual data entry steps, and task assignments can all be added without writing code.
The visual editor supports advanced flow control including conditional paths with merge-back, dynamic wait steps, batch triggers, and custom JavaScript execution. Relay.app also supports building MCP Servers that expose custom tools to external AI systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, or ElevenLabs.
